Why Creative and Media?
I completed and degree in Creative Digital Media with Drama and Performance Studies in May 2008. I have always enjoyed working with young people, have coached kids between the ages of 5-11yrs, I ran drama workshops and have worked on the Do It 4 Real Summer Camps for the YHA. Teaching is something I have always been interested in and I am excited about being involved in the Diploma, however, I have much to learn regarding the subject knowledge which is relevant to course. Between September and December 2009 I have set myself targets to gain further knowledge in the following areas:
- Audio and Radio.
- Media key concepts.
- Music production and sound engineering.
- Broadcast journalism including radio and podcasting.
- Creative and Media Diploma exam boards and specifications.
- Functional Skills.
- National Curriculum at key stage 3 and key stage 4.
- GCES exam board specifications.
- Use cubase or another sequencing programme to create a back track.
- Operate basic functions in a recording studio.
Creative and Media
Creative and Media is the new 14-19 Diploma which is coming into secondary schools. I am one of the first teachers to be trained to teach this new course. The subject knowledge I have started collating will be recorded in this Blog and shared with other trainees.
